Community Mural, Plymouth
Founded at Ford – Together We Can is a large-scale community mural I created in collaboration with Ford Primary School in Plymouth.
I started by asking pupils, staff, governors and parents a simple question: what makes Ford special? Their words, ideas, colours and shapes became the ingredients for the final mural design – transforming the outside of the school into something bold, joyful and rooted in its community.
Then came the fun bit – making it happen! There was painting, taping, rolling, chatting, problem-solving and plenty of colourful hands as everyone helped bring the mural to life.
Collaboration is a big part of my practice, and I love what happens when people are invited into the creative process. This wasn’t about me making a mural for Ford Primary School, but creating something with them – a piece of public art shaped by the people and place it belongs to.
This short film captures the people, process, paint and fun behind the project.
Founded at Ford. Made together. Together we can!
